Hey, something you said in your posts made me think of default apps. So I checked and somehow GoogleChrome was set up as the default app for pdf files.
Don't ask me how that happened! But once I changed it back to Acrobat Reader, I can now open all the pdf files correctly. So, thank you for giving me the idea to check the default apps!

If not I'm going to have to change to another browser permanently. Not everyone is having this issue, so there is some situation on your system or perhaps a specific configuration of Opera that triggers it.
Could you try running Opera with a temporary profile to see if you still have the problem then? You can do that by entering this in a Terminal.
